Canal Plus (Canal+) is a French premium television channel launched in 1984. It offers a wide variety of programming, including movies, sports, and original series, with most content being encrypted and requiring a subscription.
Canal Plus is owned by the Canal+ Group, a subsidiary of the French media conglomerate Vivendi. In addition to the main Canal Plus channel, the Canal+ Group operates several other channels and services, such as Canal+ Sport, Canal+ Cinema, and their streaming platform myCanal.
Canal+ also offers a mobile app for subscribers to watch programs live or on-demand and supports the HbbTV initiative for combining broadcast TV and broadband multimedia applications.
